Frequently asked questions

A few things couples ask us most.

Most couples book 6–12 months in advance, especially for peak seasons. We take a limited number of weddings per week, so once that date is gone, it's gone.

However, sometimes we do have availability with only 2 months' notice, so definitely touch base via the contact page or chat with us on Facebook or Instagram if you're interested in organising a quote.

We currently work mostly with fresh flowers, and sometimes preserved flowers as well.

We create with premium seasonal flowers & foliages sourced from trusted local growers and wholesale suppliers, to ensure your designs are beautiful and bring your vision to life.

Your florals are guided by:

  • Seasonality
  • Your preferred colour palettes
  • Style (rustic, romantic, whimsical, sculptural, etc.)
  • Your investment

We don't have a minimum spend currently for pick-up.

If you would like delivery, the minimum spend is $1,000 (delivery fee is not included).

In most cases, yes!

We're happy to help transition your florals to the reception, provided the venue logistics and timeline allow for it.

Since this requires us to stay on-site to manage the transition, we charge an hourly rate that covers setup, waiting time, and the move itself (usually 2–4 hours).

If we need to add more stems to help the arrangements fit their new reception spots, we can discuss those additional costs as we finalise your design.

If your wedding takes place during hotter months, please note that flowers may wilt quickly. We'll advise you on the longevity of your chosen stems to ensure they look their best throughout the day.

Yes, that's not a problem — however you can only pick up on the day of the wedding or the evening before.

Wedding flowers are super delicate. They need to be kept in a cool room around 15–20°C until the time of use. Picking up too early can compromise quality (which we take no responsibility for once out of our hands).

Bouquets are provided in containers with conditioning liquid or moist cotton.

Pickup is in Eight Mile Plains 4113.

You can find our booking process here.

Then, if you'd like to receive a quote, please fill in the enquiry form with as much information as possible.

We'll get back to you soon with a quote (or more insights), or let you know if we're unavailable.

Of course — we always do our best to include your favourite flowers and colours. However, fresh flowers are seasonal and availability can change, so there needs to be a degree of flexibility and substitution.

If something isn't available, we'll substitute with equally beautiful blooms that complement your palette and achieve a similar overall look.

A decision may be made on your behalf to complete the job as we see professionally fit.

We have some specific packages here.

Otherwise, we tailor proposals for every couple. This allows us to design florals that reflect your palette, style, budget and story.

Floral Diary is based in Eight Mile Plains, 4113, and services all of Brisbane, the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast and surrounds.

Apart from designing flowers, we do arbour draping and table styling as well. We also offer items for hire such as vases, plinths, candles, etc.

If there are no hire items (vases, plinths, etc.), the flowers are your responsibility to remove at the end of the night. You can book us for a "pack down" service if our schedule allows.

If you have hire items and cannot return them to our studio within 3 days, pack down is a mandatory charge. This incurs an additional travel charge as well as an hourly rate for pack down.

We want to be as transparent as possible about how your wedding date might affect your floral budget. Here are two things to keep in mind:

  • Holiday demand: if you're planning a wedding during peak floral holidays like Valentine's Day or Mother's Day, wholesale flower prices increase significantly due to high demand. We pass these costs on at face value to ensure you still get the best-quality blooms available.
  • Weekends & public holidays: while the cost of the flowers themselves remains the same, labour costs for delivery and setup are higher on these days to account for increased staff wages.

Yes, we certainly do!

While our main focus is weddings and events, we're always happy to design custom arrangements for birthdays, anniversaries, school formals, graduations, sympathy gestures, or "just because" moments.

Because we don't keep a standing inventory of flowers, we order everything fresh specifically for each event. To make sure we can secure the best seasonal stems for you, please get in touch at least one week in advance.

If you have a date in mind, head over to our contact page or chat with us on Facebook or Instagram — we'll let you know right away.

Yes, we provide a mock-up service if you would like to preview your arrangements.

The price for the mock-up would be the same or a little higher than the item on your quote.

Please keep in mind that every design we create is unique and personalised to your wedding. We do not replicate "cookie-cutter" designs or recreate arrangements from other people. We invite you to view our work in the Gallery page to get a feel for our design style!

Under any circumstances:

  • If you are rescheduling or cancelling less than 45 days prior to your wedding, there will be no refund of the paid Deposit
  • If you are cancelling the booking before 45 days prior to the wedding date, you will receive a refund of 50% of your deposit.
  • If you are rescheduling your wedding before 45 days prior to your date, we're happy to do so if the date is available.
    • If the date is available, there will be a rescheduling fee (10% of your total cost).
    • If the date is not available, we will refund 50% of your deposit.

We truly value your support as a small business. Because late changes and cancellations can be difficult for us to absorb, we have policies in place to help manage these costs. We'll always do our best to accommodate your requests fairly and kindly, and we appreciate your partnership in respecting these boundaries.
